As the sixth anniversary of the arrest and imprisonment of a Canadian citizen in Ethiopia approaches, preliminary negotiations are taking place for a possible prisoner transfer to Canada. Editors Note: This news comes as a surprise to most Ethiopians and even the international community that have been asking day and night for Ethiopia to respect human rights. It is an absurdity for anyone that would expect an international organisation as big as the UN to develop in such a manner. The absurdity is that the UN General Assembly elected Ethiopia, along with Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone and Gabon to represent Africa for membership in the UN Human Rights Council, for the period 2013-2015.
